I recently visited Sugar Sea at Tawaen Beach and was thoroughly impressed. The establishment offers a delightful outdoor seating area, providing a serene ambiance to enjoy the island’s beauty. The service was commendable, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a pleasant experience. Prices are reasonable, offering good value for the quality provided. Most importantly, the venue maintains a high standard of cleanliness, which is greatly appreciated. Sugar Sea Cafe has very nice relaxing atmosphere. Ordered Shrimp Cakes and they were delicious. It was very busy and it took over 40 minutes for my partner to get her drink. My Thai Red Tea drink did not come after 1 hour so I left. I don't think staff could handle the amount of people that were there.

This 5 stars review is based on a comparison with other restaurants we tried on this island. It should be noted that the average prices on the island is higher due to the fact it’s located in a touristic area. Menu includes Thai and non-Thai items, and both are quite well executed. For example the pizza and carbonara pasta were fair enough, while all raw food was perfectly fresh and delicious. There are some staple items such as their small sea scallops in butter…. Small but a lot so at that price it was worth it. Salmon sashimi was excellent, and the wasabi good enough to be mentioned here. There is a patio area facing the beach, and a section inside with air conditioning, which has been refreshing during hot and humid days. To use bathroom you need to ask waiters for access, which they will help with immediately. Not the cleanest, but tolerable. They accept credit or cash.

It took Google Translate to help me order because we wanted a vegan pizza… it worked. The chef came out and even asked us about each ingredient to make sure he got it right… he did. Excellent pizza. Very pricey but it is a beautiful establishment, excellent service and a great view.

The foods are really tasty and it is a very good place. You can bring your pet outside of the Restaurant, but cannot bring them inside. This is one of the aesthetic restaurant you can visit in Koh Larn.
